Bibble did not get manufactured into a meme last week. He has been building this since before most of the timeline had accounts.
Bibble appears in Barbie: Mermadia, released March 2006. The clip the meme is cut from went up on YouTube that May and has since passed 1.8 million views.
The format takes over Twitter. Song lyric, capped with "X year old me", Bibble mid-scream. The June 1st post that kicked it off cleared 10,000 likes in under three months, and the edits with flames behind him became their own documented variant — the image at the top of this page.
The Daily Dot publishes a full feature on the meme's survival, by which point Bibble has become shorthand for nostalgia itself and has moved onto TikTok.
The resurgence. In January a TikTok showing comment sections flooded with Bibble stickers pulled 11,000+ likes and 15,000 comments. In June a creator built a Bibble sculpture off the back of it. The plushie is doing millions of views.
